This whole-day conference will be about children and young people and procedural justice. It should appeal to those with lived experience and professionals from across the public, private and third sectors, especially those working in children’s social care, local authorities, family justice, criminal justice, education and health.

 

Detailed Description

Aim:

We aim to understand how the challenges for the justice system and how it can let down children and young people; to consider how we can improve the experiences of children and young people; and to promote practitioner understanding and confidence.

Objectives:

We will contextualise the issues with a mock trial, hear about the lived experiences of children and young people, share thoughts about current practices and innovations, and agree actions.

Cost:

UWE is making a significant financial contribution towards the cost of this event and is not profiting from it.  Private sector delegates are being asked to pay a fee of £50 plus VAT per person to cover costs. There is no fee for public sector delegates and third sector delegates.
