Detailed Description
An expedition to Cuba. A life-changing opportunity to work with internationally recognised experts from the University of Havana. Help them with their research and learn the techniques used in the tropics to study some remarkable plants and animals. Many of these species are endemic to Cuba and found nowhere else in world.
The total cost of the expedition for is year is £2700. This includes cost of your visa, food, all transport from UWE, travel insurance, accommodation, hire of dive equipment, tank air and dive master fees. Additional cost includes your personal wet suit, mask, snorkel & fins, personal first aid kit, personal camping equipment (e.g. sleeping bag, head torch) and the cost of any inoculations.
- A refundable deposit of £800 should be paid by 9 am Monday 10th November 2025.
- This will be followed by an interim payment of £950 due in February 2026 and
- remaining balance of £950 will need to be paid in March 2026 BEFORE we leave.
SSI Open Water dive qualifications, or their equivalent, are required for all students. Additional costs of dive training, if required, is provided at a discounted cost of £500 and will be paid separately through the online store at the start of Term 2.
