R James Healy was born in the North of England. He grew up immersed in art, TV and electronic music during the heyday of home computing. His experiments with the Commodore Amiga personal computer ignited a passion for animation. This led him to the National Centre of Computer Animation (United Kingdom), where he attained a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Computer Animation and Visualisation in 1998.

James completed his artist is residency at the Centre for Print Research in 2024.This brochure details his journey and editions of the residency.
