This Study Visit is an integral part of the Quantity Surveying core module: International Cost Management (ICM). The programme includes an intensive two-day lecture and site visit programme, with a course dinner on the third evening. The Study Visit primarily provides an important European dimension and academic support to the Semester 1 component of coursework for the ICM module.

For organisational, health and safety reasons, student numbers are limited to 40 and places will be allocated to the first 40 registering/paying on the UWE Online Shop before the closing date of 08 October 2025. For students’ unable to attend the Study Visit, a summary of study material gathered during the visit will provided online after the visit.

Detailed Description

The Study Visit will be to Berlin and we will be travelling by air direct from Luton (London) to Berlin by Easyjet.  Based on £200 for the flight, the total cost of the visit is expected to be £583, including airport/hotel transfers, coach and metro travel whilst based in Berlin, B&B at a good hostel in twin-bedded rooms, insurance, guided tours, lectures, site visits and a course dinner in central Berlin, which with a £278 subsidy from the University, gives a total cost to you as a student of £305.

 

UWE will book the hotel accommodation and local travel arrangements for the whole group in Berlin, but not the Easyjet flights which will be your responsibility. Easyjet are currently quoting £160 per person for the return flight excluding any item of checked-in baggage. If you book individually now the price will be less, but we can expect the price to climb to well over £200 as the flights fill up. Note; Mega bus/National Express options from UWE to London and then bus to Luton are available; or you may wish to car share, or even fly on different Airlines or dates (before or after the trip). The Invoice cost from UWE to you for this Study Visit will be £105.00p
