Discover the wonderful and ever popular process of Photopolymer Gravure in this one day workshop. The workshop is geared towards beginners and those who might want to brush up their knowledge of this fantastic photographic intaglio technique. We will cover everything from creating the film positives, exposing and developing the Photopolymer plates, through to printing on our beautiful cast iron Rochat etching press. Participants will learn how to expose, develop and print a plate. Once the plate has been made, they will learn how to print the plate, and leave with a beautiful print of their own making.

This course price includes all materials and PPE.

Course Description

This course is aimed at those with very little experience but want to learn about Photopolymer Gravure and gain some experience printing Intaglio.

How will the course be delivered? 

This will be a physical course, delivered in person at W block at our UWE Frenchay Campus by course tutor Laura Clarke. The course will run from 10am - 4pm.  

About Laura Clarke 

Laura graduated from the Royal College of Art in 2010 with an MA in Fine Art Printmaking, where she received the Alf Dunn prize and the Augustus Martin Award for excellence. She was awarded a Fellowship at the Royal Academy Schools in 2012 and has worked as a Tutor in Fine Art Printmaking at City & Guilds of London Art School for the last 10 years. She currently works for CFPR, master printing for artists as part of the Artist in Residence scheme.
